Modou Sougou
The versatile Senegal winger may not be a name known to many, but that could change after this season as he scored another two goals on Saturday for his Portuguese side Académica in their 3-0 win over Vitória Setúbal. Sougou can play on either wing or as a central striker and he has now taken his tally for the season to five to be amongst the leading scorers in the Portuguese league.
Didier Drogba
Drogba's class is unquestioned, yet it is still thrilling to see him impose his skills on top sides and his two goals in the 3-0 success over Arsenal on Sunday took Chelsea another step towards the English Premiership title. His second was a beauty too, a free-kick from 25-yards that left Almunia in the Gunners' goal with no chance.
Gervinho
This season has been something of a struggle for Lille, but their one shining light has been Cote d'Ivoire star Gervinho, who netted two more goals at the weekend to help his side to a vital 4-0 home win over Valenciennes. It was their best win of the season and the all-round display from the Ivorian was top-class.
Ibrahim Sidibe
Standard Liege may not be having the best of seasons in Belgium, but they still take some beating and Sidibe netted an excellent goal to help his lowly Sint Truiden side to a 2-0 success that boosts their battle against the drop. Senegalese Sidibe has now scored eight goals in 14 starts for his side this season.
Alaeddine Yahia
Yahia has started every game for Lens this season at centre-back and was outstanding once again as his side managed a 1-0 home win over Olympique Marseille. Yahia and his teammates had wave after wave of OM attacks to deal with, but the Tunisians stood up superbly to the assaults .
